Drawing before painting. I’m trying to think of the whole shape and then break it up into shapes, looking at the negative and positive, measuring, relationships, areas of dark and light. I started on a 22x30 sheet of kraft Stonehenge. Maybe that sheet was too small for working with charcoal. Maybe pencil would be better at that size.
