There was alot of unrecorded trial and error before this one. I had trouble making the etch even work with the soda and maple syrup. I reread my class notes and started incorperating the Lemon etch method that's well documented here.    I can't remember if I used cola or lemon juice to etch here, I used real gum arabic instead of maple syrup.  It worked really well!
