This is a page from an 1850 something Gazette celebrating local industry (my neighbor at the Flea was selling it) It was the Havemeyer and Elders Sugar Refinery then.
The building has gone through alot of changes, I know they had a big fire, I wonder if those rows of windows are the same ones there today.
I love the bits of yesterday coming through.
Last night the construction barriers were moved further out into Kent, getting ready to tear the big building down.
I've lived next to it for more than 15 years. I'm sad to see it go and a little afraid of what comes next.
