I get into the mojo of things.
It's had a big influence on my work.
Looking at things as more than a still life,
it's an appreciation of the object
where it's been, what it's seen.
i've always been like that, even before the bikes
I've been interested in the spirit of things
almost as if I could touch the past, touch the life through them
beyond my paintings I get excited about different things and lately I've been into these rubber stamp letter sets from the past.
I've collected a few, since I found one at the flea.
from different decades, from the 1910's, 1920's, '30's, '40's and '50's
I have another coming from the 18somethings
they are amazing!
I don't know quite why I'm so excited about them
I just am.
maybe the fact they are letters and made to communicate
the fonts are amazing, I've been looking for super interesting ones.
Some of the sets have symbols and patterns for making posters
it blows my mind that I never knew these exsited and now I find they're quite common.
I've promised myself to stop collecting them until I figure out if they are useful to me beyond simply the pleasure of it.
