I get really excited about chine colle.
Perfectly collaged paper with printing is beautiful.
The printing I'm currently doing is screenprinted, then glued
so not technically Chine Colle
but I wanted to mount little prints on contrasting paper
and do it all proper style
made a damp pack, wetting the paper, stacking it then wrapping in plastic.
dampened the print, front and back, applied a thin coat of methyl cellulose with a brush then wiped most of it off with paper towel
placed the print onto the support paper, laid a sheet of blank newsprint ontop and applied pressure to adhear
drying stack made by alternating sheets of cardboard and blotters with the assembled prints
and weighted with block weights from an out of service weightlifting machine
