I think the oil paint clogged my sponges
This was a dud,

then to wash out my clogged sponges.  I put oil on them to clean out the paint. 
I added block print medium to the paint, which I think
improved it but when i used my sponges,
even though I had washed them well,
I think the oil clogged the whole plate
even after I cleaned it it would no longer
hold an image.
