This idea is something I've been working with since 2008.
Layering bike silhouettes into a jumble.
It started as relief prints with the bikes cut out of rubber and applied stamp like
until I got what I wanted. Now they are screenprints.
I got through the group and add a single bike, deciding where to place it on each print.
I'm thinking about composition
watching how each bike affects the whole piece.

Smooth, flat screenprinted color
on beautiful paper
is one of my favorite things.

This bike has a Shelby Flyer headbadge. I'm not sure that's original. My gut says 1930's or 40's, I'm not sure about that either. I do know there's something so beautiful about this old thing. It almost doesn't look real. I wonder what it's story is. I'll probably never know.
