Basquiat Note Books at the Brooklyn Museum

June 25, 2015 - 10:32pm

I finally got myself over to see the show.
Which was good, 'cause I liked it.

I had mixed feelings going in,  showing stuff that wasn't meant to be shown

seems like it's taking advantage and I don't really like the fetishization
that said it was really good,  well done.
I am a big Basquiat fan, when he is good he is great.

The colors on these two are great

Seventh Heaven Street Fair

June 21, 2015 - 8:38pm

Today was the 7th Avenue 7th Heaven Street Fair.

I like to go to different neighborhoods.
Meet new people and other vendors.

A woman bought my very abstract litho. She said "this is the best one, the rest all have bicycles"

I saw one of my Anthropologie bags out in the wild
on a very stylish person

Some guy was wowing everyone with his big snake!

Good times,

here's my bike and market stuff loaded into the freight elevator at the end of the day.

and Dave's awesome new sneakers, that I totally want.

Closing Time at the Project

June 20, 2015 - 7:15pm

Joe started running the drawing session at the project the year I was born, 1968.
I came on the scene when I moved to NYC in 1990.
I've been drawing at Joe's pretty regularly ever since.

Joe's is leaving NYC for somewhere in MA.
Today was the final drawing session.

Joe's has been a constant and a big part of my life,
the whole time that I've lived in New York
I am sad to see him go.

But happy for him and thankful
for all the drawing classes I've attended over the last 25 years.

LES Gallery Walk

June 13, 2015 - 7:31am

While I've made it to a few of the LES galleries
I haven't really seen what's out there.
So yesterday Tracie and I hit the trail
armed with the list

we saw as much as we could
though the art was pretty disapointing.
we had a great time hanging out and admiring
the great buildings of the Lower East Side
while enjoying smoothies

the winner for best art of the day was Brie Ruais at Mesler/Feuer!
